AB7000HF EMI Absorber
The AB7000HF low-halogen, flexible, high-permeability magnetic sheet from 3M™ is a broadband absorber for near-field applications in the 50 MHz to 10 GHz range
3M's EMI absorber AB7000HF series is an innovative EMI absorber material. Intended to reduce EMI and RF noise in electronic systems, the AB7030HF EMI absorber consists of a flexible polymer resin loaded with soft metal flakes. It can be easily die-cut into complex shapes and has multiple thicknesses available. It features a one-sided acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive and can be applied to noisy traces, ICs, and reflective surfaces in an enclosure. Common applications include the reduction of noise and crosstalk inside mobile electronics, reduction of crosstalk and EMI on ribbon cables and flex cables, reduction of radiated IC noise (applying absorber directly to the noisy IC), damping of radiation and oscillations inside shields and cavities, and increasing signal integrity on high-speed data lines through crosstalk.
- Flexible, high permeability magnetic film
- Frequency range 50 MHz to 3 GHz, target frequency 1 GHz to 2 GHz
- Acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) for easy application
- Low halogen (less than 1500 ppm total bromine and chlorine)
- Easily die cut into complex shapes
- Meets IEC 61249-2-21 guidelines
- Reduce radiating EMI noise by being attached on top of electronic components (e.g., a semiconductor chip)
- Reduce reflected EMI noise by being attached inside a shield can, a compartment, or both
- Reduce EMI noise by being wrapped or attached on a cable
- Diminish emitting EMI noise being induced by high-frequency current on a metal surface
*Halogen-free is defined as having maximum 900 ppm bromine, maximum 900 ppm chlorine, and/or maximum 1500 ppm total bromine and chlorine, per IEC 61249-2-21.
