Renesas RL78/G10 Series of Microcontrollers | DigiKey Daily

Renesas offers their RL78/G10 series of microcontrollers for general purpose applications. These MCUs are a true low-power platform with currents as low as 46 microamps-per-megahertz. They can operate from a voltage ranging from 2 to 5.5 volts. Main Flash memory is available from 1 to 4 kilobytes, and for RAM there are 128 to 512 byte size options. Other features include a 20 megahertz on-chip oscillator, multiple communication interfaces, extended-function timers, external interrupts, and more. One ideal application is a household gas alarm, for helping to protect people’s lives from carbon monoxide and combustible gases. This easy solution, from Renesas, uses a microcontroller part from their RL78/G10 series as well as an op-amp from their ISL28113 series of operational amplifiers.
