White light has a color temperature or CCT, but there is also another factor determining the quality of the light and that is CRI. So what is CRI? CRI - Color Rendering Index - is the ability of the light to faithfully reproduce colors from the material or objects that the light falls upon. It is the definition for the quality of light. This value shows on a scale of 0 to 100 how accurately the real colors of the illuminated object are perceived. It helps to compare the emitted light from the light source to that of the ideal black body radiator. It measures the continuity of the spectrum and how the different colors are presented by the white LED. Typical LEDs are with CRI >80. The image on the middle right is an example of an object in an environment of 3000 K with different CRI. The image on the lower left is the same object in an environment of 6000 K with different CRI.
