The WE-HCC Iron series is designed for extremely high current applications where it is important to have excellent saturation behavior. High temperature applications will also benefit from the WE-HCC’s core material characteristics which are very temperature stable. This is important for high current filter applications such as motor drives, frequency converters and inverters, Class D amplifiers etc. The frequency response of the WE-HCC iron series is stable over current as shown in graph. The blue curve shows the attenuation over frequency for a 4.7µH inductor with no DC current, the red curve shows the attenuation with an 11A DC load without any performance decrease. This series is a good choice for high current filter applications which need a high attenuation from 5MHz-100MHz.
