The last type of the PLCC LEDs are the full-color LEDs, better known as RGB LEDs. Würth Elektronik RGB LEDs are offered in two series the WL-SFTW and WL-SFTD. The WL-SFTW has 3 standard package sizes- 3528 with 4-pins, 3528 with 6-pins and 5050 with 6-pins. The PLCC 3528 with 6-pins is uses a white reflector and a Lambertian emission characteristic and thus has a gapless coverage of a wide color space by additive color mixing. This schematic is simple for circuit design, and ideal for TV backligting, color splashing walls, accent and decorative lighting, optical indicators and RGB LED stripes. The PLCC 6 5050 package allows individual driving of each chip in parallel circuits. The 5050 is the biggest common SMD package that can offer very intense light output. It is well suited for lighting areas that may be subjected to high levels of ambient light. The combination of three different chips in one package can create millions of color variations, perfect for color splashing of walls, and accent and decorative lighting.
