Ambient Light Sensors Slide 7

The third function of an ambient light sensor is to respond to different light sources based on their perceived brightness. Since the human eye perceives incandescent and fluorescent lights to be equally bright, the output current of the sensor should ideally be the same for these light sources. The ratio of the response should be as near to 1 as possible. This ratio is typically provided in ambient light sensor data sheets.
