This is a typical performance curve that shows the inductance tested over a range of DC Bias current for every standard IHLP part. This is represented by the blue line and is a test for Saturation Current. The IHLP will slowly decrease in inductance as more and more current is added. The red line represents the Heat Rated Current, which measures the heat rise vs. current for the part. The parts are typically tested well beyond the 40°C rise point, so designers can see what happens to the part at high rated currents.
