Image of Unictron Ultrasonic Transducer for Proximity Measurement - Typical Setup

The typical measurement setup described here requires a function generator, oscilloscope, circuit, reflection plate and transducer. Every measurement must be made under the same conditions. In addition, the oscilloscope recommends setting the bandwidth to five times the operating frequency and the sampling rate to ten times the operating frequency. For example: the standard settings for Unictron 240 kHz ultrasonic transducer are as follows: Frequency = 240 kHz, Drive signal = 18 Vpp, Rectangular wave, Burst number = 10 cycles, Drive Interval = 20 ms, Vertical scale = 500 mV ~ 1 V, Horizontal scale = 400 us ~ 1 ms, Probe = 1X, Temperature = 25°C ±3°C, and Relative Humidity = 45 to 60% RH.
