The XC9235/XC9236 series is a simple structure step-down DC/DC converter which is capable of a 600mA output current. The output voltage can range from 0.8V to 4.0V in 0.05V increments while the input voltage range can be as wide as 1.8V to 6.0V.  This allows the Torex device the ability to be used with many inputs including a USB 5V input line, a Li-ion single cell battery, or two alkaline dry cells. As shown in the block diagram, users can get a high performance step-down DC/DC converter circuit by using the XC9235/XC9236 IC, one small inductor and two ceramic capacitors.
