The BSP series effectively diverts transient voltages to the path of least resistance, usually the ground wire. The compact devices feature three wire leads for Line-Ground, Line-Neutral and Neutral-Ground protection. The flame-proof plastic enclosures provide an 85°C surface temperature rating. These products also meet IEEE/ANSI C62.41.2 guidelines and are Surge Location Rated Category 3C. They are UL Recognized Components for the United States and Canada. An important factor, that many do not readily understand, is that Surge Protectors do not work indefinitely; their life is shortened with every strike. As a result, the strike number for the device is very important. While solid-state surge protectors can last longer, they are unable to handle large surges and are more expensive than MOV-based devices.
