On the top left of this slide is a schematic representing what happens to the phase signal from the previous slide. Basically, this digital representation of the dimmer position is signal conditioned and converted into an exponential dimming profile. Dimming occurs from 33-66% of TRIAC conduction so maximum light output at full brightness and consistent minimum light output under deep dimming can be achieved. Recall from the TRIAC wave forms with an incandescent bulb that full light output at full dimmer brightness cannot typically be achieved. It can however be achieved with a TPS92070 solution. Lastly, note that RMIN is an external resistor used for setting the minimum light output.
