The DRV10983 has an on-chip 3.3 V or 5 V 100 mA step down converter. If the Buck is not required, the inductor can be populated with a low cost resistor, reducing boards space and cost. Motor speed can be controlled via a serial, PWM, or Analog voltage control signal or even by varying the supply voltage. A tach signal is provided for closed loop speed control when combined with an external MCU. The external BOM count has been minimized to a few capacitors. No sense resistor is required for operation, but a sense resistor can be added if the system requires one. The DRV10983 supports up to 2 A RMS, 3 A peak and an operating voltage range of 8 to 28 V. AVS overvoltage protection protects against supply pumping.
