The standard FASTON receptacles have a higher temperature rating for tin-plated brass receptacles. The tin-plated brass standard FASTON receptacles are rated to 125°C. Many tin-plated brass quick connect receptacles are rated no higher than 110°C. This higher temperature rating may represent a cost saving, as some other brass quick connect receptacles may require a more expensive silver plating to achieve the higher temperature rating. For much higher temperature ratings to 250°C, the standard FASTON receptacles are offered in nickel-plated high strength, low alloy steel.
