The MHQ, MLG, and MLK series inductors are all multilayer high frequency inductors. Multilayer chip inductors are made up of thin sheets of unique ceramic material layered together. A coil pattern is printed onto each layer of material with metallic paste (normally silver). The sheets are then layered so a spiral-shaped internal electrode pattern is created, which eliminates the need to wind wire onto a core. This multilayer configuration allows for high Q characteristics that are equivalent to that of air core wound inductors, while allowing for miniaturization and mass production.
