Whether the input of a hall effect sensor is a sine, square, or, complex waveform, the relationship between input and output (transfer function), is defined by what is known as the Transformer Equation. The primary current multiplied by the number of primary turns is equal to the secondary current multiplied by the number of secondary turns. In other words, the output current is proportional to the input current, and the proportionality is a constant equal to the number of primary turns divided by the number of secondary turns (Is=Ip x (Np/Ns)). Tamura defines Ip (primary current) as If (rated current).
