As shown in the picture on the top left, the flat ribbon cable is inserted into the SFH213 IDC socket, which then mates with the SBH11 box header (or any other 0.100” pitch box headers), thus creating a board-to-cable connection. As mentioned earlier, the strain relief provides a more secure connection for the cable and prevents damages on the socket when the cable is being pulled. The optional polarizing key also helps to prevent mismating. Meanwhile, the SIP110 IDC dip plug is directly terminated onto a PCB.
