Another embedded feature common to all the Function Packs is the integrated Serial Line Monitor. It is helpful for a real-time observation of the progress and status of the software routines. The user can connect the development board to the PC through a PC USB port. From the device manager of the PC, the development board will be seen as a Virtual COM port. A serial terminal emulator, e.g. TeraTerm, can be opened on the PC (with the port setup setting shown here). This feature is very helpful, both for the customer and for the ST application teams, in order to help the user while debugging the real-time software.
