Liquid Level Sensing Technology Slide 7

The reed level sensor in its simplest form is composed of a magnet and a reed switch or reed sensor. Generally the magnet is mounted as part of some type of float mechanism. When the magnet comes close to the reed switch or reed sensor the contact will close. When the magnet is moved away, the contacts will open. It is common for the reed level sensors to have other added features, which will be discussed on the following slides.
