The components of the plug connector are shown in this slide. Cable termination is achieved typically via solder or crimp contacts, which are not shown in the illustration. The half bushing with window is assembled to the insert with the window key aid, then the other half bushing is put in place around the opposite side of the insert. This contact/insert subassembly is then inserted into the latching/releasing sleeve subassembly via the keyed insert. Next, the cable collet is inserted as shown, aligning the two key slots with the bushing tabs. Finally, the back nut is screwed on the back of the latching/releasing sleeve threads and tightened to gently compress the collet on the cable jacket.
