Applications

This diagram shows how a typical chip resistor is made. Construction begins with a substrate where upper electrodes, resistive element, and undercoat are printed onto the substrate. The unit is then laser trimmed and goes through another printing phase for the middle coat, overcoat, and marking. The final steps involve side electrode printing, and then nickel and tin plating.
