Typically, the highest current will flow when turning on the motor (start-up current). ROHM’s H-Bridge driver has current limit function that can be externally configured to the lowest possible value while still allowing the motor to start up to prevent any reliability issues by high inrush current. Also, it is possible to work permanently in current limiting mode to enable a constant current (or constant motor torque) operation. Current limit is set by external reference voltage VREFx and current detection resistor RNFx.
