The Border Router is the device that connects the RIIM™ network to the internet via CoAP. The box router is simple to build and is also available as a complete router product from Radiocrafts (see the photo on the lower right). The physical size is 76.2 x 76.2 x 25.4 mm (excluding the SMA connector). The content of the Border Router is the IPM module configured as a Border router, a local bus that connects to an internet connection, typically to Ethernet via an ethernet transceiver. Power is typically available at the border router location, the Radiocrafts Border Router gets power via a USB connector. A PCB and an enclosure are also needed. The designer can also put sensors/control interface on the border router, it connects the same way as in the child nodes. The Radiocrafts Border Router does not have any sensors/control interfaces implemented.
