In summary, banana plugs and jacks are used by many types of electronic professionals. Standard 4 mm banana plugs are used below 1 MHz, and are not designed for handling more than 33 Vrms applied. They are often used for connecting DC power supplies or DMMs to low-energy electronic circuits.
