Due to its high reliability and wide selection of part numbers, PhotoMOS is naturally suited for many applications. For the applications highlighted in red, this presentation explains what advantages PhotoMOS relays can bring. In automatic meter reading equipment, it may be necessary to control signals from very low level up to power signals and to feature small leakage current and low noise. Power storage system applications have also become a focus. The high load voltage capacity of PhotoMOS is ideal for monitoring storage battery units for insulation deterioration. PhotoMOS can also be used in a circuit for monitoring charging voltages of a battery cell group due to capability of frequent switching. In medical applications, low level signals of less than several hundred millivolts must be accurately transferred. PhotoMOS makes it convenient in driving rotary solenoids such as those used to automatically switch voltage ranges. The latest measurement instrumentation requires measurement at high speeds under a wide variety of signal conditions. Some of these applications could include scanning functions, automatic zero-point error, and measurement sequence interfaces for alarms. PhotoMOS can also eliminate the need for snubber circuits as long as they are operated properly and can thus decrease the mounting area required for more compact PLCs.
