Backforce is an internal spring-loaded device that helps the operator avoid excess pressure on connections in critical applications. With each succeeding turn of the wire, the backforce feature moves the wire wrapping bit rearward against a preset tension spring. This assures every connection on the panel has been wrapped at the same pressure. The backforce wire wrapping feature is recommended for new users/trainees and is best when used on wire gauges 26 to 30 AWG.
