Design with the freedom of choosing the interface best suited for the project. The 2x16 Modular OLEDs come in six different models, each designed with either a parallel, SPI, RJ45, or I2C interface allowing engineers to select a model that features their interface of choice. Each interface offers the developer unique benefits. Parallel interfacing has been a common method for sending commands to and from displays for years and is arguably the most efficient method. However, the pin-out requirement can be limiting to what the project needs entail. The SPI, RJ45, and I2C interface requires fewer pins for sending command prompts and are common interfaces found on most development tools. The RJ45 interface is a unique option due to its ability to utilize the benefits of standard Cat-6 cables. These cables can be purchased at common hardware stores, eliminating the need to custom build and due to its configuration, can be up to 100’ long with limited noise issues. Arduino ready models are also available for anyone who is currently using an Arduino development board and is looking for a quick 2x16 character display solution. The designer can begin developing with everything needed from the start by letting the 2x16 Modular OLEDs be the display selection for enhancing their product’s overall user experience.
