For inductors and common mode chokes, Murata Power Solutions uses ferrite cores and not ceramic materials such as those in small RF chip inductors, although such products are available through other divisions of Murata. Most of these inductors are used for power filtering applications and for those who need to reduce EMI (Electro-Magnetic Interference) to achieve EMC (Electro-Magnetic Compatibility). Murata Power Solutions offers two types of transformers: pulse and current sense. The pulse transformers are used for signal isolation, and line impedance matching. While the current sense transformers are used to sense or detect current flowing through a particular winding. Murata Power Solutions does not offer the larger heavy AC transformers with laminated cores.  Most of their transformers are designed for signal level, low voltage, and low current products.
