A block diagram of the component can be seen in this picture. Any acceleration causes a capacitance change inside the sensing element. The capacitance change is then detected by the ASIC analog interface. The capacitance information is converted into an analog voltage. The analog voltage information is then amplified, filtered, and converted into digital information. After filtering, acceleration data can be read out digitally using SPI bus. In single axis components, output is also available in PWM output.
