The MCP9600 contains all of the necessary circuitry for thermocouple signal conditioning in one single package. This includes a precision instrumentation amplifier, precision digital temperature sensor used for measuring the reference temperature for cold-junction compensation, precision 18-bit Delta-Sigma analog to digital converter, and a processor core which is used to compute the Electromotive Force (EMF) to degrees Celsius conversion using the coefficients derived from the NIST ITS-90 coefficients. This includes type K, J, T, N, S, E, B and R detection.
