The PIC32 Bluetooth audio development kit comes pre-loaded with everything needed to get started in streaming audio applications. Included is the PIC32MX series MCU, featuring up to 80 Mhz of computing power, 256K of Flash, and 64K of RAM. As mentioned before, additional Microchip PIM’s can be added through the PIM header. Also included as a module is a Bluetooth radio that supports standard Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) and is connected to the PIC32 via Host controller interface. A stereo audio DAC is included for line level output to either headphones or an external amplifier of the customers choice. There is even a 2 inch LCD module for users to get started quickly with graphics. Multiple software components are available for use with this platform including Apple iAP 1 & 2 support, Samsung audio, Android AOA, Bluetooth with SBC & AAC decode, and MP3 decode with FAT file system support, for playback from USB flash drives.
