The 832/834 accelerometers are designed for mounting on printed circuit boards or ceramic substrates. However, it is important to understand that the 832/834’s are accelerometers and therefore require very good mechanical coupling at their mounting interface in order to function properly as an acceleration measuring device. Avoid using reflow ovens or furnaces as the high reflow temperatures may degrade the performance of the sensing elements. Additionally, the solder reflow process does not provide a good mechanical contact between the accelerometer bottom surface and the mounting surface. It is therefore recommended to first glue the device to the printed circuit board using structural epoxy and then make the electrical connections manually using a soldering iron.
