The MAX14783 is the latest device of Analog Devices' high ESD RS-485 transceivers. The value of the MAX14783 is that it is the industry’s only high speed, dual voltage RS-485/RS-422 transceiver with one of the highest ESD protections. There is no other equivalent in the market. The dual voltage comes in handy because a customer can stock one device and take care of new 3.3 V designs and 5 V legacy designs. This simplifies stocking and power supply requirements. The MAX14783 offers the highest ESD HBM (human body model) of ±35 kV. This helps eliminate or reduce the need for large external protection circuitry, saving space and cost.
