Analog Devices' MAX14850 is a six channel capacitive digital isolator that is rated for 600VRMS of isolation voltage for 60 seconds. It is the first monolithic die solution in the industry and utilizes a proprietary high voltage Analog Devices process. It can withstand a potential difference of 200VDC for more than 50 years. There are four unidirectional channels with a bandwidth of 50 Mbps and two bidirectional channels at 2 Mbps. The top two channels transfer signals from west to east direction and the middle two channels the opposite direction. Voltage supply range is from 3V to 5.5V with a temperature rating from -40°C to 125°C. The MAX14850 is ideally suited to isolate signals from common serial transceivers like RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, Profibus, I²C, and SPI. This means customers can stock one device to handle different serial isolation requirements. It is also suitable for interfacing +3.3V systems with a +5V systems.
