The MAX11200 family includes pin- and software-compatible options at 24, 20, 18 and 16 bits. This makes it simple to trade off resolution and price, without needing to lay out a new board. Many of the ADCs in this family are offered in a small QSOP-16 packages that include the GPIOs and a 4-wire interface for access to the internal calibration registers. The 2-wire serial ADCs are offered in the µMAX-10 (pronounced “micromax”) package for the half the size. The 2-wire timing is a simple clock-and-go with preset data output rates.
