The IS32LT3183A is an AEC-Q100 qualified LED driver that operates over the vehicle’s wide voltage range of 5.5 to 18 V with 40 V load dump protection. The four 60 mA current sinks can be independently configured as an I2C or SPI bus primary or GPIO with 16-bit PWM output or 12-bit DAC inputs. The integrated LIN bus interface is compliant to the latest LIN and SAE standards and supports the Bus Shunt Method for setting individual node addresses. The integrated MCU has a LIN certified protocol stack for LIN message frame decoding and a math co-processer for 16-bit multiplication and 32-bit division used in color calibrating matrix calculations. The onboard memory consists of 32 kB flash memory with ECC to protect its contents and 2 kB of SRAM for fast code execution. The LED driver can support 16-bit color that is calibrated to a manufacturer’s device specifications along with temperature compensation. Programmable LED registers can adjust LED brightness and color transitions for software animation playback. The IS32LT3183A comes in a small thermally enhanced 8-pin SOIC package.
