Like its counterparts the LTC3374 and LTC3375, the LTC3374A is a high efficiency multi-output power supply IC. The DC/DCs consist of eight synchronous buck converters at 1A each, all powered from independent 2.25V to 5.5V input supplies. For the LTC3374A and also the LTC3374 and LTC3375, 15 unique output power stage configurations are possible to maximize application flexibility, from an 8 channel 1A regulator setup to a dual 4A regulator setup. Any combination of 2, 3, or 4  adjacent buck regulators may be combined to provide either 2A, 3A, or 4A of average output load current with a single inductor. For example, buck regulator 1 and buck regulator 2 may run independently, while buck regulators 3 and 4 may be combined to provide 2A, while buck regulators 5 through 8 may be combined to provide 4A; in this configuration only four inductors are required. In the dual buck 4A configuration, only two inductors are required. In the octal 1A configuration, eight inductors are required. In general, buck regulator 1 is never a slave, and buck regulator 8 is never a master.
