The LT3999 operates over an input voltage range of 2.7V to 36V, and features dual 1A onboard power switches. It is targeted for isolated power levels up to 15W. This device runs open loop and does not require output voltage feedback. It has a programmable duty cycle. The turn ratio of the transformer determines the output voltage. Several off-the-shelf transformers are shown in the product data sheet to simplify the design. The switching frequency is adjustable from 50kHz to 1MHz and can be synchronized to an external clock. The input operating voltage range is set with the precise under-voltage and overvoltage lockouts. An onboard cross-conduction prevention circuit increases reliability. The LT3999 is available in thermally enhanced MSOP-10 and 3mm x 3mm DFN-10 packages.
