LT3652-Slide5

The key features and benefits of the LT3652 include a wide VIN range of 4.95V to 32V (with a 40V absolute maximum rating), suitable for a wide variety of applications. The high 1MHz switching frequency reduces the size of external components and enables a smaller solution size. Also, the 2A maximum charge current enables a fast charge while the input voltage regulation loop reduces the charge current if the panel voltage falls below a programmed level and maintains the panel output at a VOUT corresponding to the peak output power point of the panel, making it ideal for MPPT applications. The autonomous charge control provides automatic restart, preconditioning, bad battery detection, and binary coded status output pins for monitoring device operation. The LT3652 features standalone operation where no microcontroller or software is needed for charge termination which is programmable via a timer or at C/10. The maximum peak power tracking (MPPT) temperature compensation feature of the LT3652 employs a feedback network to program the VIN input regulation voltage. Manipulation of the network makes for efficient implementation of various temperature compensation schemes for MPPT applications. Additionally, the switch-mode topology results in low power dissipation and good efficiency.
