In summary, the HLSR is the first current transducer utilizing LEM’s second generation HG2 ASIC, and is available in two mounting styles, through-hole and surface mount. The HLSR is a compact transducer capable of supporting 150A continuous current. All of the electronics, including the Hall cell, are contained in the ASIC. The HLSR is a galvanically isolated device capable of measuring AC or DC current. The HG2 ASIC was designed to improve the temperature effects on gain and offset. It has a robust single piece bus bar that can support 150A DC continuously, with a flat architecture to help dissipate heat. The standard HLSR package is designed to provide 8mm of creepage and clearance, a version is available that provides 14mm of creepage and clearance for 1000V operation. The new HLSR operates to 105°C ambient with accuracy of ±3.4% of the nominal rating. The plastic case material will not melt until the temperature reaches 340°C.
