Windows XP SP2, 7 and 8 all support a native Bluetooth stack. Some Windows CE and Embedded Compact also support a native Bluetooth stack via Platform Builder. In Linux, support is in the form of the BlueZ Bluetooth Stack which supports Bluetooth 2.1+EDR. To date only Windows 8 and BlueZ support Bluetooth v4.0. Multiple third party Bluetooth stacks are available and will work with the BT800.
