Dynamic speakers are good at delivering the high bass SPL needed for ANC. However, it is difficult for a small speaker to provide sufficient treble to support high-resolution audio and high bass together. By adding a balanced armature tweeter in the hybrid configuration, one can have the best of both worlds. High bass for ANC and clear, extended treble for high-res audio playback.
