As was reviewed in the previous slides, Class 2 and 3 dielectrics will have a shift in capacitance versus temperature. This is called TCC or Temperature Coefficient of Capacitance. This slide shows an example of TCC measured on a Class 2 X7R and Class 1 C0G MLCC from -55°C to 125°C. On the left, the graph shows a shift in capacitance up to -10% to +0.5% across the temperature range. Notice that the graph on the right shows very little capacitance shift for Class 1 C0G over the entire operating temperature range. For this reason, Class 1 MLCCs are ideal for applications such as resonant converters and wireless power transfer circuits.
