The SMR-Series consists of four product variants. They differ in radar modulation type and antenna design. With the modulation characteristics, the products also have varied functionality. The SMR-313 and SMR-333 are CW-Radars. They detect the velocity and motion direction of moving objects. Typical use cases of these features are simple motion detection applications like light automation or energy saving functions in electronic devices. The only difference between both sensors is the radar antenna. While the SMR-333 comes with a narrow field of view, the SMR-313 has a wide field of view. The customer can decide which detection area makes the most sense for its application. The radar sensors SMR-314 and SMR-334 uses FMCW radar modulation and are VCO transceivers. Beside the speed measurement and motion direction identification, both products offer the detection of presence and distance of moving objects. The additional features are especially useful for motion detection applications in the security sector (e. g. alarm systems). The SMR-334 has a narrow field of view and the SMR-314 has a wide field of view. The SMR-Series covers a wide variety of motion detection applications. Customers can flexibly choose within one series between different functionalities and detection ranges, but do not have to change product design because all the sensors have the same size.
