Due to the small size of the W.FL product, the use of Hirose tooling for insertion is highly recommended and required for extraction. The insertion tool can be especially useful when connecting the plug in confined areas or spaces. When extracting or un-mating the plug a dedicated extraction tool is required. The extraction tool supports the plug and allows a “straight line” range of motion.  If a Hirose extraction tool is not used the plug and receptacle could be subject to un-even twisting or wrenching motions, which may damage the plug.
