The bottom side of the FH19 connectors is enclosed, allowing the PCB to have conductive traces under the connector. This feature allows better use of the PCB space. The metal fittings on the connector serve to anchor the connector more firmly to the PCB. These fittings are soldered to the PCB at the same time as the board side contacts.
