With conventional designs, the eject mechanism acts directly on the card. With the Hirose connector, the card is held by the tray and the eject mechanism acts on the tray. Upon ejection, the tray is caught by the latch which precludes the card from becoming 100% free. The card can then be easily removed by the user.
