Advanced Energy constant voltage power supplies provide a fixed output voltage up to the maximum current rating, which is called I max. Above I max, the output will go into hiccup mode and the voltage will cycle alternately off and on. This feature is called over current protection, or OCP. LXV series has a wide range of output voltages and wattages. The table shown here provides a partial listing of output voltages available for the LXV150 part family, a 150W power supply family. The LXV150-012SW has twelve distinct output voltages, with output current maximums up to the rated 12.5A. The supply is designed to go into over current protection at 10 to 80% over current. As stated earlier, in protection mode, the supply output will hiccup, alternately turning off and on.
