The typical USB connector on a PC is a Type A connector. The Type A plug, as would be used to connect a mouse, PDA, digital camera, etc, can plug directly into the computer. Many larger USB peripherals, such as printers and scanners, have a USB Type B connector and require a Type B plug. To connect a peripheral with a USB Type B receptacle to the computer, a USB Type A to B cable is required. The Micro USB connector is typically used in mobile devices, including cell phones, PDA's and Smartphones, where size is a factor and the number of mating cycles will be significantly higher. EDAC’s USB 3.0 connectors are available in Type A, Type B and Micro.
