ZigBee is the wireless language that everyday devices can use to communicate with one another. It is reliable, interoperable, and low-power. Zigbee allows the transmission of data over long distances by passing the data through a mesh network of intermediate nodes to reach more distant ones. It supports multiple network topologies such as point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and mesh networks, and allows up to 65,000 nodes per network. ZigBee defines three different device types: a coordinator, router, and end device. Digi’s XBee ZigBee modules harness the power of the ZigBee protocol stack to enable simple mesh networking for devices deployed around the world.
