Shown here are the advantages and disadvantages of having a Power Factor Correction. Line current harmonic can be reduced to a great extent and thus increasing the available power from the wall socket or given source. The most commonly used Power Factor Correction is a line inductor (also known as passive PFC) but only applicable for low power and high line input and not suitable for wide range input. The PMC series offers both Passive and Active PFC with universal input voltage range for optimal performance.
